Tarabokia/Roman Fight Against Cancer Charity Softball Tournament Nov. 8th 2008

Format: 2 Game Guarantee Bracket Play
Entrance Fee: $200 for USSSA sanctioned teams

Tarabokia/Roman Charity Tournament
This tournament is in honor of Ariel Roman and the late Stephanie Tarabokia. We are currently looking for teams, volunteers, and sponsors for the
tournament. There will be a Softball Tournament, and Home Run Derby.
Rules:
- Home team decided by a coin flip in bracket play and higher ranked team will have home team in single elimination round (ie the 1 seed will be home team vs the 8th seed)
- USSSA pitching arc used 3-10 from the ground
- We will be starting with a 1-1 count. No Strike mat. The plate is not a strike. There is NO courtesy foul
- 7 inning games
- Everyone hits a 12" ball
- Everyone must hit, if you walk a man in front of a woman the man gets 2nd base
- 2 games guarantee
- You may bat as many people as you wish as long as you have at least 3 women in the lineup
- Unlimited # of Home Runs
- Unlimited courtesy runners. Last out. Guy for Guy, Girl for a Girl
- 1 hour time limit in bracket play games (Drop Dead rule at the 1 hour time limit, ie you do not finish the inning. You don't even finish the at bat). Bracket games can end in a tie
- Game time is forfeit time
- No time limit for elimination round. International tie breaker rule will be in effect
- You can only play for 1 team. If you are caught playing for a second team that team will forfeit that game
- The batting order must alternate male and female from the beginning of the lineup. If you
dont have a woman batting either 1 or 2 it will be considered batting out of order and the
second male batter will be called out
- If you are short players, you may play with 9 but if you only have 2 women you must
take an out in the lineup for her. You can play short men without a penalty. You can always add your 10th person at any time
- Mercy rule is 15 after 3, 12 after 4, 10 after 5. Mercy rule in effect for championship game
- Tournament Director has the right to change any rules when needed and his/her decisions are final
- The tie breakers to see who advances to single elimination and where they are ranked are as follows:
- Record
- head-to-head
- run differential
- least amount of runs given up
Home Run Derby Rules:
- Home run derby will start while the championship games are going on at about 3PM and last to we have a winner
- You can enter the derby up to two times
- 10 swings per entry
- Person with the most HR's after 10 swings is the winner
- In the case of a tie there will be a second round
- You supply your own pitcher and balls
- Use any bat and any 12" softball you want (for the guys)
- Use any bat and any 11" softball you want (for the girls)
- Seperate Derby's for men and women
- Women hit from second base
- $20 entry fee - 50% to the winners, 50% to the charity
Other Information:
- There will be NO Smoking or Chewing tobacco at the fields, since it's a ACS event.
- $75 optional tournament t-shirt buy in for teams (12 shirts). Individual shirts will be for Sale $10 each or 2 for $15
- All food & beverages will be restricted to the picnic area
- There will be donated food and beverages in the picnic areas of the parks, first come first serve
- There will be 50/50's, raffles and other events
- All proceeds from tournament, home run derby, sales and 50/50 will be dontated to the Amercican Cancer Society
- We will also be accepting individual donations to the American Cancer Society
